Rev. Stephen Taylor will offer this Sunday School Class in the Chapel entitled “What is it about Jesus that changes our world for us?”. All are welcome!

We are so excited to kick off a new year in Sunday school. On August 25th our children will move up a class according to their grade. This includes our 3 year olds, we look forward to having them join us in the Education building room 210. We are also starting a new series called Deep Blue: Loving God, Loving Neighbor. Check out the App in your play store, for weekly lessons and games. (Deep Blue Adventures). Contact Suzy Broadus if you have any questions.


• End of Summer Splash! Sunday, August 25 from 4-6pm
All rising 4th and 5th graders are invited to a pool party at Jaime Keller’s home. See Suzy Broadus or Jaime Keller for directions.

• Fall Kick Off! September 8th from 5-7pm. Parents are invited that night for dinner, games, a devotion and some paperwork. Calendars will be handed out too.  RSVP by September 1st to suzy@unionunitedmethodist.org so we can have a head count for dinner. Looking forward to a great year!


• Youth Ice Cream Social Sunday, August 25 from 5-6pm in the FMC gym.
We’ll have an ice cream sundae bar! Please come and welcome our new Youth, meet some new friends & hang out with your old ones!

• Water wars & Messy Games Youth Fall Kickoff PARTY is Sunday 9/8 from 5-7pm in the FMC Gym!
We will have a hot dog bar, stations of messy games and water games, slip n slide, a large water slide & loads of fun! Wear appropriate clothes for water & messy activities! Bring friends! All are welcome!

• Youth Discipleship Small Groups Starting this Fall for all Youth Ages!
Middle School Boy/Girl & High School Boy/Girl groups are available!  Call/text/email Eleanor for more information on your specific group, and how to sign up. Do not miss out on this awesome opportunity to deepen your spiritual walk and build tight-knit relationships with your peers! • NEW: Underground Café will be open on Wednesday evenings from 5:30-8pm starting Wednesday 9/4 for Study Hall, Snacks, Coffee/Hot Chocolate, Board Games/Card Games, etc! Come out, hang out & study or play! *A designated quiet space for studying will be available, if needed!

• Fall Retreat to Doe River Gorge is October 4-7, 2019.  The theme is “Pause: Learning to Seek God”. Do not miss this incredible spiritually uplifting and enriching retreat among God’s beautiful creation and friends! Cost is $115. There are 5-6 team members that are retiring, so if anyone wants to be a part of the magic that happens behind the scenes, they should contact Barbara Hammett @ bchwch0211@aol.com or attend our next planned meeting September 3 at 7 p.m. in LL11.

Will begin its fall session on Wednesday, September 4 @ 6:30 pm in the Educational Bldg-Rm 214. GriefShare is a 13 week support group for adults (18 yrs or over) who are grieving the death of a spouse, child, family member, partner or friend. Each session is self-contained so you may begin at any time. The sessions consist of a video by experts, a group discussion and a workbook that we use weekly. The cost of the workbook is $15 (scholarships are available). Our first session is on “Is This Normal?”. We will discuss why the grief experience is harder than we imagine it will be, the intensity & duration of emotions that are normal & appropriate, and the reasons for hope for the future.
