Our apologies if you have tried to contact the church this past week by phone, fax, email, etc. Due to a power outage from the storm on Monday, our systems have been down. Everything is now working properly, but if you have not received a response to an email or voicemail you left, please follow up with that person. We appreciate your support and understanding.


FAMILY MINISTRY CENTER MEMORIAL GIFT GIVING OPPORTUNITIES

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS are needed for ages 3 years-5th grade. If interested, contact Jim Magann.


UUMC SNACK PACK PROGRAM
Snack Pack is a mission outreach program offered by members of Union UMC. The purpose of this mission is to provide nutritious, child friendly snacks to children in Lexington/Richland School District 5 who do not have enough food during times that the schools are closed, such as weekends and holidays.  Items will be packed in grocery bags and sent home with the children on Friday afternoons (see list below for specific items needed).
 
We will be in need of food and monetary donations, as well as groups to pack the bags on a monthly basis. We will have a sign-up sheet for packing days available in the coming months.

·         Juice (boxes or pouches)
·         Fruit snacks (sm. Bags)
·         Large jars of Peanut Butter and Jelly to send home on long holiday breaks.

SHARING GOD’S LOVE
Sharing God’s Love is collecting school supplies to give clients this summer when they come in. If you wish to donate, we need the following: notebook paper, black & white composition books, 1" 3 ring binders, 3x5 ruled white index cards, red pens, pocket folders, yellow highlighters, colored pencils, blunt nose scissors. Please bring your donations to SGL.


FOOD DRIVE
Sharing God’s Love will sponsor its annual food drive on August 15th. Food bags are available for pick up by the congregation beginning today in the narhtex.

DAVE RAMSEY’S Financial Peace University is coming to Union!
Join us for this life-changing, 13 week program that helps reduce financial stress by teaching how to manage your finances effectively and get rid of debt. The average family pays off $5,300 in debt and saves $2,700 during the class. Class starts Wednesday, September 8 and goes through Wednesday, December 8, 6:30-8:30 pm. To sign up call the church office at 781-3013. Deadline to register is Tuesday, August 31st. A nursery will be provided.

On Sunday, August 15, please meet with your back packs in front of the Wesley Center at the end of the 10:45 services to have your back packs blessed for the upcoming school year.
